Frequently Asked Questions
Fostering An Amicii Dog
I can't commit to adopting, but would like to foster a dog. Is this possible?
Generally, yes. If there is a particular dog you are interested in fostering, we are happy to consider it. Otherwise we will talk to you about dogs and puppies that need our help and see whether any of them would be a good fit for you.
What is the process for fostering a dog?
The process for fostering is the same as for adopting. You should complete our online application form with details of the dog(s) you are interested in. Our adoption team will review this and contact you to arrange a home check if your application is deemed suitable. If the home check is carried out and all is fine, then a fostering contract needs to be completed and signed.
How long would my foster dog be with me?
This can vary from anything between one day and a few months. On average, most of our Amicii puppies are adopted within three weeks and most adult dogs within eight weeks.
Is there a fee for fostering an Amicii dog?
No. The donation only applies to adoptions, not fostering.
Do I have to pay vet bills for a fostered dog?
No, the charity will cover vet fees for fostered Amicii dogs. However, we do ask that you speak to our team before taking a fostered dog to the vets, except in the case of an emergency.
