PEMBROKESHIRE CHALLENGE
Len Shimmon and his wife Glenda, who reside in South Wales, are embarking on a charitable mission to raise funds for Amicii dog rescue by trekking the Pembrokeshire Coast with their adopted Amicii dog, Romy. Len, an experienced trekker, will cover a distance of 60 km over three days, from Sandy Haven to Solva, with Glenda providing support and nourishment along the way.
Len and Glenda adopted Romy from Amicii in April 2020, and since then, Romy has become a beloved member of their family. With her loving and caring nature, Romy accompanies Len on weekend treks in the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. Her stamina and love for the outdoors make her the perfect companion for Len's long-distance walks.
Len, who hails from South Africa, has been an avid trekker since 1984 and has raised funds for various charities in the past. He is thrilled to be raising funds for Amicii, a charity close to his heart, with the support of his wife and their beloved dog.
The trek will take place from 19th to 21st May 2023, with Len and Romy covering distances of 19 km, 23.5 km, and 18 km over the three days. The Shimmon family hopes to raise a significant amount of money for Amicii dog rescue and create awareness about the importance of animal rescue and adoption.
